Stunning hand beaded gold evening bag by Mr. John- handmade in Hong Kong, circa late 1950s vintage.
Short gold coil chain strap.
Gold tone metal bar frame with inlaid mother of pearl panels along the front.
Curved triangular beaded front with vertically arranged beading; the rest of the bag is covered in short, looping strands of smaller beads adding depth and interest.
The beaded areas along the frame and bottom sides/ edges are darker, creating an ombre' effect, as shown.
Lined in satin, with a small slash pocket on each inner wall.
In excellent condition with no issues to report- a beauty!
